Anthony Hoke - DE
Warren Harding
Class of 2004

");

By David Baugh
At 6'1, 226 pounds, Anthony Hoke wasn't the biggest defensive end out there, but you'd be hard pressed to see another player on the same field that made as big of an impact as he made.  Hoke's "lack of size" did very little to slow him down as he displayed a nice combination of strength, speed, and awareness that made him a big play waiting to happen.  In his first season as a starter as a junior in 2002, he had 80 tackles, 26 tackles for a loss, and 19 sacks on a Warren G. Harding team that advanced to the state title game.  He followed up his stellar junior year by having an equally impressive senior season.  He was a First Team All Ohio selection and was named the Associated Press Division 1 Defensive Player of the Year.  He accepted a scholarship to the Unversity of Cincinnati.  He is currently starting at defensive end.
